We have a thriving women's golf club here at Healdsburg Golf Club at Tayman Park, Healdsburg, California. Our club has been active since the 1930s with play on Thursday mornings. Our golfing year is April through November. Each Thursday game is a different format and our major tournaments are the Fitch Mountain Cup (Low Net) - see photo above! - and the HWGC Club Championship (Low Gross) plus a start-of-season Spring Fling in April. Our calendar of events is shown in the 2022 Member Booklet below. Our current membership is about 73 members with 16-24 playing on any given Thursday. We welcome players of all levels: beginners to long-time players, low handicap to high handicap, young and not-so-young. Nine-hole players are welcome to follow the field after the 18-hole players have teed off.
We encourage players to make a tee time through the Pro Shop. We will have a block of seven tee times set aside by the Pro Shop for our usual Thursday mornings. Tee times will be filled starting at 8:00 am at 10 minute intervals and going forward from there. Any unfilled tee times will be released on Monday (prior to Thursday play) to the Pro Shop for use by the playing public. You will be notified of the upcoming week's tee time availablity by that week's scorer or the Tournament Chair. Niners (those playing only 9 holes) are asked to sign up at the end of the field or may play on Thursday afternoons, organized by Nancy LeClaire. We are appreciative of Frank Johnson, Jordan Berby and the Pro Shop staff for accommodating us in this way.
Being a social group as well, several of our tournaments are usually followed by luncheons at the Tayman Park Clubhouse or off-site and our golfing year ends with a holiday luncheon in early December. Initial club dues are $100.00 which includes $3.00 for Hole-In-One insurance. Renewal dues are $87.00. New members are encouraged to join online throughout the year (see link below). The annual renewal period for returning members is November and December.
To join, click on the button below or download and print the application and mail it with fee to our club.
HWGC Local Rules
Per USGA guidelines the following Local Rules have been developed by Rules Chair Anne Friedemann and are in use during all HWGC events.
HWGC Standing Rules
Our Standing Rules provide guidance for club officers and members in how to run our weekly playdays and annual tournaments as well as the details of how to deal with Holes-in-One, Most Improved Golfer, Chip-ins and Break Pins. This is the "nuts and bolts" of how our club competions operate.
